    5. Environmental issues are concerned to each and every person ay be a teacher, students or any other person. It is related to each subject, like in maths if we talk about change in weather conditions a lot of data analysis is required and various studies in graphic will lead to further prediction.

To survive joyfully on this planet, the child needs to get connected with the existence around him and also understand his/her role in observing, appreciating, using and safeguarding environment for the wellbeing of self and also other living beings.   8. Environmental studies integrates various disciplines. For example while Learning about Digestive system children can be taught the following:
    --Nutritious value in different foods.
    -- They should be made aware of the crops grown locally and the food which is available locally as well as food and crops procured from other parts of the country and world.
    -- Junk food v/s Healthy food
    -- Recipe of their favorite dish.
    -- Cost of procuring the ingredients for their favorite dish
    -- A small poem to be composed on 'Food I love most'

For example, when a child starts learning about Body parts, he also learn about growing up, the age (numbers), the food we eat, type of house where we live and about rooms in the house.   79. It is true that EVS is an integrated discipline. It helps a child view everything from a social, physical and an emotional perspective .
    This happens because a child acquires awareness and the natural curiosity and creativity is aroused. The child develops sensitivity for the natural, physical and human resources in the universe. The child is also able to point out issues related to equality, justice and respect for human dignity and rights as EVS integrates Science and Social Science.
    For example, if we take the topic of seasons, it will include talking about the Sun in relation to the movement of the Earth, the vegetation and the behavior of animals, how people react to the changing season - the food they eat, the clothes they wear etc.

  81. Let's take an example of vegetable.. 🍅- what is this?? A vegetable- question of English or Hindi subject- including language.
    Secondly, How 🍅 us grown?? It's grown in a soil, with water sunlight. Introducing our sciences.
    Thirdly, how long the crop of 🍅 takes to ripen from the day of seedling. Here comes our Mathematics. Students can actually see and understand things by integrating all the subjects and areas of study.

  84. Environmental Studies is definitely one of the most integrated disciplines which nit only amalgamates social science and science but naturally art, ethics, values, language and mathematics most of the time.
    For instance, while teaching-learning is going about Road Safety and particularly Traffic Light rules, not only the students respond about what each light signifies about the traffic rule; they can learn about and reinforce identification of colours - red, orange and green. The numeracy part that there are three colours that are important in this context. Further the values to follow rules always and every time and ethics about road courtesy which driving or commuting. Students sharing their experiences about traffic, whether the family follows rules. Children are the most powerful agents to bring about a desirable change.

    The environment consists of the sum of all the physical and biological factors that directly influence the survival, growth, development, and reproduction of organisms.

    On the basis of components environment can be divided into two parts:

    Physical environment – It includes lithosphere, earth and its different physical features, hydrosphere, water components, and the atmosphere.

    Biological environment – It includes flora, fauna and various micro-organisms.

    According to Douglas and Holland, “Environment is aggregate of all the external force, influences and the condition which affect the life, nature, behaviour, the growth, development, and maturity of a living organism”.

    1. Natural Resource Sustentation and Environmental management :

    EVS helps in managing wildlife, forest, natural resources.
    EVS also provides the solution to various problems like pollution and decrease of natural resources.
    An environmental scientist is working for ecological balance, conservation of biodiversity, as well as protection and regulation of natural resources.
    2. Scope of EVS in the industry:

    Due to industrialization, our environment has been affected badly. So, in order to protect our environment for further degradation, there is a need to adopt an environmentally friendly process and technology. In this innovational field of technology, biotechnology has shown good promise. Biotechnology is helpful in other avenues of environmental science.

    3. Scope in research and development: Various research projects and work are accepted in the field of environmental studies. Researchers are being done to control pollution to counter global warming, reduction of greenhouse gases and adoption of endless energy source.

    4. Scope in Human health and sanitation: For healthy and disease-free life, pure and hygienic environment is must so sanitation is necessary. So, the study of human health and sanitation is an important feature of environmental studies.

    5. Scope of EVS in Social development: NGO’s and media are making effort in unfurling different awareness issues like pollution, conservation, and awareness which results in making the masses aware of different aspects of the environment.

    When we teach children about FAMILY,
    We can discuss about the type of family- Nuclear/ Joint, family members, their occupation, etc. Thus, we can develop General awareness, develop their vocabulary and integrate with English, Number of family members can be integrated with Maths ( Number values). Types of occupation can be related to Social Studies. Art integration can be done by making children draw their family in their art file.

    -- Junk food v/s Healthy food
    -- Recipe of their favorite dish.
    -- Cost of procuring the ingredients for their favorite dish
    -- A small poem to be composed on 'Food I love most'
    For example, when a child starts learning about Body parts, he also learn about growing up, the age (numbers), the food we eat, type of house where we live and about rooms in the house. Likewise, if a child learns about transport, he will also learn about the safety and traffic rules. All the topics are interrelated in EVS. EVS is a vast topic which covers all the other topics.
    Ex: Buying vegetables from the vendor enhances speaking skills , knowledge about the vegetables as well as the mathematical skills while calculating the price.
