  88. yes or learning activity provided in learning situation can be grouped as individual or group learning activities and it can be assessed by using rubrics.
As a grading tool, rubrics can address these and other issues related to assessment: they reduce grading time; they increase objectivity and reduce subjectivity; they convey timely feedback to students and they improve students’ ability to include required elements of an assignment. Grading rubrics can be used to assess a range of activities in any subject area.

    ReplyDelete
  89. All learning activities in a given learning situation can be individual or group learning activities and can be definitely assessed using suitably designed varied rubrics for the same.

Rubrics are flexible and can be modified to assess a given learning activity - whether written, oral, visual including bodily-kinesthetic. The parameters of a rubric - assignment description, scale levels, dimensions and dimension criteria - can be appropriately defined, preferrably in a collaboration between the teacher as facilitator and the learners.

  91. Learning outcomes can certainly be categorized as individual or group. But I doubt whether they can be assessed through rubrics. The one possible and sensible justification of my response is that errors are natural. No matter how many discussions are carried out with my students aiming to create perfect rubrics, there will be aspects and situations which won't fit in the key features of those rubrics. A student might be sick during a particular assessment or even be facing an emotional or mental issue while performing an activity. Such a situation will clearly not present a correct learning outcome. But that doesn't mean the desired outcome is not generated. Such ambiguity in conclusions may occur and thus, every aspect is not covered through rubrics, no matter how flexible they are.

  120. Yes all learning activities can be assessed through rubric. if it appears difficult to create a rubric for a learning activity the activity can be adjusted to incorporate the criteria in the rubric. Through rubrics a child get a true understanding of his performance and what he presented and what was expected of him. Since the rubric criteria is already with the child he has an idea of what is expected of the learning activity which helps in improving his performance.
