  29. Multilingualism refers to speaking more than one language competently. Especially in a country like India where people speak a variety of languages.
A classroom that welcomes a multilingual atmosphere is more likely to produce children who understand that to be equal to someone, doesn’t mean they have to be the same as them. Multilingual instruction fosters meaningful diplomacy, by growing children’s appreciation of different cultures and meaning-making systems. They include the creation and appreciation of cultural awareness, adds academic and educational value, enhances creativity, adjustment in society and appreciation of local languages.
By learning another language, children begin to understand and master language as a system of representing meaning in the world. . As it enables better learning, ensures girls' education, is important for minority groups, and provides a basis for learning in other subjects ,

It has long been recognised that one of the key characteristics of high quality teaching is the ability of the teachers to engage students’ prior understanding and experiences and background knowledge. This prior knowledge is encoded in their home language and therefore it is vital that teachers facilitate the transfer of both concepts and skills of students from students’ home languages to English. It can be used both as a strategy and a resource.

  31. I t pays rich dividends for both the teacher and the taught to be polyglots!. The fact that the student has been able to learn wo or more languages is enough testimony to the fact that he has the requisite learning fervour and prowess to learn another eve if it be a foreign tongue like English. This is something the teacher can use to his own advantage. The foreign tongue could be taught perhaps more effectively and productively thanks to the learner being quite well-equipped with other tongues. The child too can take confidence from the fact that if he had the latent learning skills to acquire a good hold over other tongues then why not English. So I fully support this school of thought

When we teach in any class, the reference of various places, people following different cultures appear as characters and it becomes easy if a teacher knows how to integrate various languages while teaching to communicate.
