  25. In class 3 the EVS lesson ' Work we do ' can be developed using the notebook based survey as it is all about people and their livelihood in the immediate environment of the child. The children can be asked to survey the people in their immediate neighbourhood and note down the data in their notebooks. A set of questionnaire can be developed and given to the children by the teacher as a prerequisite. After a stipulated timeline is given for data collection the children may be asked to talk about the data that they had collected. As each neighborhood is different the children will be able to get a variety of data which can be discussed in the class wherein the whole lesson will be encompassed in the discussion leading to the successful completion of the lesson.

    1. The class can be divided in groups . Each group will be asked to collect information about people and their livelihood in the immediate environment of the child.Children will be asked to note down the data like, name of the person , work he does ,type of work,time given to do that work, what type of communication he uses,up_down how much time required to go to the work place. After a stipulated time period, each group will be asked to summarize their data. Discuss in the class ,the different types of work they found. The difficulties and the success of the work can be discussed.

In class 4 the EVS lesson ' From market to home' can be developed using the notebook based survey as it is about the life of vegetable vendors ,when they start their work how family members help,how they procure the vegetables ,the attitude of wholesaler so on. The children can be asked to survey the weekly bazaar in their immediate neighbourhood and note down the data in their notebooks. A set of questionnaire can be developed for interview with the vendors with the help of the children as a prerequisite. After data collection the children may be asked to talk about the data that they had collected.
